Our Curriculum
At Mind Discovery Center, our programs are designed to strengthen the cognitive skills that enable our brains to think, learn, read, remember, and solve problems in new ways. Our programs consist of fun, challenging mental and physical exercises that prepare any student for lifelong learning. Our brain training workout plans are customized to challenge and strengthen each child’s unique cognitive abilities.
Structure of Intellect
Mind Discovery understands and addresses the causes of learning difficulties. We begin with the Systems Of Intellect (SOI) Assessment. This assessment looks at the different root causes of learning difficulties.
Integrated Practice Protocol - IPP
The physical component evaluates sensory integration skills, focusing skills, and auditory processing. The IPP program addresses the cause(s) of the learning difficulty.
Primitive Reflexes
The foundation for complex voluntary movements and advanced cognitive functions begins with primitive reflexes. While these unconscious processes are invisible to the untrained eye, they prepare one for higher-level skills such as learning, thinking, planning and movement. By understanding their impact on different behaviors, possible issues can be identified so as to better promote greater proficiency across all areas related to these functions.
Fast ForWord is a language, literacy and cognitive skill intervention that uses the principles of neuroplasticity—the ability of the brain to rewire and improve—to remediate the underlying causes of language and reading difficulties.
Orton - Gillingham
This structured literacy approach breaks reading and spelling down into smaller chunks matching letters to sounds. This multi-sensory approach to teaching reading is a common component of effective literacy instruction that includes using: sight, hearing, touch, and movement to help students connect language with letters and words.
