Our Award Winning Programs & Curriculum

Mind Discovery academic remediations programs use the most effective CURRICULUM and software on the market.

Our literacy specialist, Mrs. Brenda Armstrong, founded Mind Discovery after a 25-year long career in public education as an intervention coordinator. In this role, Mrs. Armstrong's responsibilities centered around struggling student's academic intervention and preparing teachers to do so. She spent years comparing the data of hundreds of students across multiple school to determine which programs were most academically beneficially. This position put her at a unique advantage when designing Mind Discovery's remediation programs.

While our online intervention softwares are important aspects of the remediation process, there are a number of hands-on or pencil-to-paper that cannot be replaced by modern technologies. Mrs. Armstrong's lifetime of experience administering these interventions allows for aggressive, efficient remediation when your learner needs it the most.

Structure of Intellect (SOI):
Mind Discovery understands and addresses the causes of learning difficulties. We begin with the Systems Of Intellect (SOI) Assessment.  This assessment looks at the different root causes of learning difficulties.  The process is simple: assess, identify, and train.  SOI determines why and how school work is difficult by assessing a student’s 26 cognitive abilities that are necessary to learn. Our approach is unique because our assessments can find the problem, provide a solution, and ensure that there is success.
Integrated Practice Protocol (IPP):
The physical component evaluates sensory integration skills, focusing skills, and auditory processing. The IPP program addresses the cause(s) of the learning difficulty. It works to improve attention span, memory, comparison & contrast thinking, eye-hand coordination, systems reasoning, and other skills essential to the learning process. This helps students perform better in school, socially, and in sports.  If any of the following describe you or your child, an IPP assessment could be very beneficial.

  • has difficulty paying attention

  • can't sit still

  • anxious

  • has difficulty focusing

  • wanders around the classroom or workplace

  • lack of concentration

  • poor posture

  • trouble reading/tracking across a page

  • clumsy

  • unaware of body in space

Fast ForWord
Fast ForWord is a language, literacy and cognitive skill intervention that uses the principles of neuroplasticity—the ability of the brain to rewire and improve—to remediate the underlying causes of language and reading difficulties.

Reading Assistant Plus is designed to improve vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Oral reading is critical and Reading Assistant Plus is an Innovative online guided reading tool that provides intensive reading practice.  Learners use this invaluable  tool to read independent texts both silently and aloud therefore increasing reading proficiency.  Oral reading is critical and Reading Assistant Plus™️ is an innovative online guided reading tool that provides intensive reading practice.

Play Attention:
Play Attention was inspired by NASA technology used to train their astronauts to attend under various conditions. This program uses BodyWave technology to read signals from the brain indicating focus and cognitive processing in real time as participants play the game. Sensors in the arm band allow the user to control the movement of the screen characters by attention alone. Your mind becomes the mouse or joystick! As soon as your mind trails off, the game records it and responds by changing movement to regain the user’s attention.

Orton-Gillingham Approach (95% Group):
This structured literacy approach breaks reading and spelling down into smaller chunks matching letters to sounds. This multi-sensory approach to teaching reading is a common component of effective literacy instruction that includes using: sight ,hearing, touch, and movement to help students connect language with letters and words.

Touch Math:
TouchMath is a multi-sensory math program designed for pre-K through third grade. The program helps make math concepts easier and more accessible for students with different learning styles or learning difficulties. The approach uses auditory, visual and tactile strategies for understanding numbers and operations.

Elephant Math:
Elephant Math teaches foundational concepts visually, then connects the ideas to the symbols and language. With visual learning students are better equipped to tackle unfamiliar math problems, recognize patterns, and build conceptual understanding. Without language barriers, the program is accessible to all students, regardless of skill level or language background.
